Strathmore has a permanent staff of five. In addition, we have an address book with a very wide range of experienced freelancers: illustrators, editors, producers, engineers, abridgers, composers, and artists.

Nicholas Jones

Managing Director

Nicholas Jones studied biological science at university, and expected to go into scientific publishing, but his first job at Michael Joseph found him copy-editing Dick Francis, and he then went to Thames Television to manage tie-in books, records and merchandise, where he was able to use his interests in both typography and sound recording and learn many of the skills that have come into play at Strathmore. He ran the publishing and bookselling operations at the Royal Institute of British Architects for eight years before establishing Strathmore in 1995.

Pat Saunders

Accounts Manager and Director

Pat has been working with Strathmore since February 2006, starting with typesetting and scheduling work before moving to work on the accounts. Pat is also responsible for maintaining the green room as a calming and inviting space. In addition to her talents in the office, Pat is a licensed lay minister in the Anglican church.

Elspeth McPherson

Production Director

Elspeth has worked with Strathmore Publishing since April 2000. She used to produce and edit audiobook recordings but since the arrival of her two daughters she now looks after all the studio bookings – casting readers, co-ordinating producers and the post production team for each project, and trying to keep everything to schedule. She also typesets and project-manages the printed books and journals that Strathmore produces.
